About us

Hi, I’m Fabiana — and I’ve made every decorating mistake so you don’t have to.

A few years ago, I moved into a 520-square-foot apartment in Denver with too much furniture, zero storage, and absolutely no idea what I was doing.

The couch was too big. The rug was too small. I spent $200 on curtains that looked great in the store and terrible in my living room. And don’t get me started on the gallery wall that took three weekends and left fourteen holes in the wall I had to patch before moving out.

It was a mess. But it was my mess — and slowly, I figured it out.

Why I started Inovaty

After a lot of trial and error (and a lot of thrift store trips), I got genuinely good at decorating small spaces on a budget. Friends started asking me to help them with their apartments. Then friends of friends. Then someone said, “You should write this stuff down.”

So I did.

Inovaty is the blog I wish had existed when I was staring at my sad little studio wondering why nothing looked right. Every article here comes from real experience — things I’ve tried, products I’ve actually bought, mistakes I’ve actually made.

No fluff. No “invest in quality pieces” advice that assumes you have $800 to spend on a side table. Just practical, honest ideas for making a small space feel like home without breaking the bank or your lease agreement.

What you’ll find here

At Inovaty, everything revolves around one idea: you don’t need a big space or a big budget to have a home you love.

Here’s what I cover:

  • Small space living — how to make the most of studios, one-bedrooms, and any apartment where you’re constantly bumping into your own furniture
  • Budget decor — affordable finds, dupe alternatives, and creative ways to refresh a room for under $50
  • DIY & projects — simple weekend projects that actually look good (tested by someone who is decidedly not a carpenter)
  • Room by room — specific advice for bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and home offices
  • Organization & storage — because in a small space, clutter isn’t just annoying, it changes how the whole place feels

A few things about me

I’m a renter. I’ve moved five times in the last eight years, which means I’ve become an expert at decorating without commitment — no permanent fixtures, no major renovations, nothing that can’t be undone before move-out day.

I do most of my shopping at thrift stores, IKEA, Target, and Amazon. I’ve never spent more than $30 on a throw pillow and I’m proud of it.

I live in Denver, Colorado, with my two plants (both somehow still alive) and a growing collection of woven baskets that my roommate thinks is getting out of hand.
